VTG. Indian by Whiting Victorian Set Of Sterling Silver serving spoons 1875

  

These two vintage spoons are in a lined (Lt blue) leather wrapped wooden box. There is a tulip shaped ladle spoon (weight 0.8oz), with hand etched designing on the inside bowl part, along with the outer. The other spoon (I believe is a sugar spoon) (weight 0.7oz) that has the same designs.

Please see photos as the designing is stunning on both. Both have the same makers markings on the back. The base of the back of the spoons have a lion with a W in a circle. Along with on the upper back parts of the spoons being marked STERLING PAT. The middle (back part) have the retailer: " WENDELL & ROBERTS".

The leather bound box is all wooden. Inside is lined and cushioned. Looks like a baby blue silk. With a mini sash, going across the back and a gold stamp, logo of Wendell and Roberts jewelry, and silverware Albany, New York.

The box measures approximately 7" x 4" x 2. The box is all wooden with a brass closure and brass hinges. The brass closure on the front has a little knob that when turned locks the box into a locked close position.

The leather condition on the box is fair (for its age) there doesn't appear to be any major damage besides, some scuffing marks and water damage markings. The bottom of the box is textured. Please see photos the brass closure is in good working condition.

Also, the inside material is in good condition. There doesn't appear to be any rips or holes, although it is discolored where the spoons have sat for a few decades. These sterling silver spoons are in excellent addition to anybody's collection along with the box as being very unique and also and good vintage condition.
