Fabulous, rare to find set of twenty-four vintage French sterling silver & ebony or ebonized wood handled dinner AND dessert or entremet sized knife set with silver caps & collars and 1800s style stainless steel blades! This is one of four great old French table knife sets that we're adding this week but don't let that fool you as to how hard they are to find. A wonderful 2pc table setting for twelve here, ebony or ebonized wood handles with sterling silver caps & collars! The blades in the older style with the straight sharp edge and curved blade tops. The blades are all original and marked "NILOX" stainless ones (or acier inoxydable), dating them to after 1912-20s when stainless steel really began to be used. Gorgeous, fabulous alongside your existing fine sterling silver table service! As noted above, we're also adding three other great sets so be sure to browse some while you're with us. The blades are stainless steel and in fabulous condition. A few tiny age or drying splits in the ebony wood handles, nothing other than some slight surface scuffs and tarnish to the sterling silver caps & collars. The silver caps & collars have just been professionally polished and have a bright, shiny luster. The knife set is in a fitted storage or presentation box but we're not sure if it's original to the set, it's marked inside "Gaudin: Coutellerie, Orfevrerie, 44 Rue de Rome, Marseille".
