My absolutely gorgeous antique Whiting sterling silver 11.5" salad serving implement or utensil PAIR, thick & heavy in the rare and highly sought after "Lily (88) pattern and both in superb condition! We just photographed and are listing a massive collection of Lily flatware, sets and pieces that I have accumulated over decades. The old Whiting maker mark, lion passant with his paw on the shield with W, appears on this fine set of long-handled salad servers, affirming they are pre-1924.

The pattern was created in 1902, and these oldest ones are heavier and more finely sculpted than are the later Gorham pieces. I found replacements dot com has the spoon to this set available with a tag equal to our tag price for this pair. I've had my enjoyment and my investment return from this stunning pattern. I believe it is the most beautiful American sterling silver pattern ever created. It was more than art, more than silver, it was a piece of my heart. I truly fell in love with this sculpted Art Nouveau pattern.

In the 40-some years since, I've added to my Lily collection here and there. It's quite amazing how it's grown.

As did my little boys, and my love of fine antiques and art. It's time to begin to downsize myself and my collections. Watch for more groups, sets, offerings in this pattern as we disburse the over 300 pieces. I'm keeping 1 old Whiting Lily tablespoon, though. All things are possible holding that spoon, I swear!

Very good to excellent condition. Extremely faint surface scuffs possible, indicative of light use but no notable damage, no repairs. See pictures for weights and measurements.
