WONDERFUL GEORG JENSEN STERLING SILVER LADIES COMPACT, c. 1940

  

Welcome to Antiques & Moore! This listing is for a lovely Georg Jensen Sterling Silver ladies compact, c. This unusual compact is made of Sterling Silver manufactured during WWII when Georg Jensen was not producing in Denmark because of the war. The compact has a classic Art Deco design with floral motif on top front near clasp.

It has original interior silk screen insert to cover powder, nice mirror, hinge and clasp in perfect working order with tight closure. The compact is in very nice condition reflecting only minor wear, however, there is one faint impression on the top just above the right end of the hinge where the top is slightly pressed down (see last photo) and a faint no-harm dent on the bottom. Measures 3" long, 2 1/4" wide and 1/2 deep. The compact is stamped Georg Jensen Inc.
