Absolutely exquisite & rare antique French sterling silver 71pc flatware set, a 5pc table setting for TWELVE with extras, all with a beautifully ornate Louis XV or rococo style pattern with sinuous foliate tendrils, large interlaced "LB" monograms and all in wonderful condition! Thick & heavy old French sterling silver and the style is undeniably stunning.

The set includes a 12/12 service in the larger dinner sized forks & spoons, 16pc luncheon or entremet spoons, 18pc teaspoons and large serving ladle, completed by complimenting 12pc knife set with ebonized handles & silver collars. If you're familiar with French flatware, the dinner sizes are generally larger than those made in England or the states and we generally use the smaller pieces on a day to day basis. Rococo style with rocaille accented sinuous foliage & tendrils and my reference refers to the pattern as Louis XV though I haven't found an exact pattern name.

All pieces bear the French Minerve or Minerva hallmark, the tiny number "1" within those marks means they're in. 950 silver 95% pure and higher than the.

Slight surface scuffs, indicative of light use over the past 100 or so years. Some knife marks on fork tines but the entire set is in overall fabulous shape.

The knives are not original to the flatware, as described above, but go beautifully with them. The knife blades are the original pre-stainless steel so you might see a bit of age tarnish or corrosion though, as you can see, they're in exemplary shape and ready to use. Currently there is no storage boxes or chest but we can provide newer sterling silver flatware boxes at your request they're good to store and have the anti-tarnish lined interiors.
